🌟 Staff Spotlight: Tommy Raffo 🌟
This week, we’re celebrating Athletic Director, Tommy Raffo, who was recently inducted into the Mississippi State University Athletic Hall of Fame! 🏆⚾
Coach Raffo shared what this honor means to him:
“I’m honored and humbled that Mississippi State recognized my 4 years as a player and 15 years of coaching. My years at MSU were during a very special time in Bulldog Baseball history. To be included with the athletes previously recognized means we all shared in the hours, the hard work, and the discipline on our journey.”
When asked what helped him reach this milestone, Coach Raffo pointed to hard work, focus, and determination:
“I wasn’t the fastest, biggest, or strongest, but I was one of the most determined and focused. Your mindset plays a huge part in success. That’s something I want Nettleton athletes to understand—that effort, hustle, and hard work are all part of the process.”
His years at MSU shaped the way he now leads at Nettleton:
“Coach Ron Polk was such a patient teacher, a great role model, and awesome mentor. There isn’t a day that passes that something he taught us doesn’t come to mind. Tough love and constructive criticism were always delivered with our best interest at heart.”
And when asked what Raider Pride means to him, Coach Raffo didn’t hesitate:
“To me, Raider Pride is a feeling of home. My family has been a part of Nettleton for 18 years. The friendships we’ve made here feel like a blended family. Nettleton is a special place!” 💛🖤
Congratulations, Coach Raffo! Your dedication on and off the field inspires us all.
